A $1.50 tree find I wish I had found sooner.

For over a year, my broom situation has been inefficient and embarrassing. A few years ago, I was proud to have built and installed a pegboard to store things like mops, brooms, dustpans, and even trash cans. ikea plastic bag holder. I’m not very handy, so a handmade board fell off the wall after about a year.
I knew I needed bigger screws to hold it in place, but I was scared to drill the holes. It wasn’t the drilling itself. We live in an old house with lath and plaster walls, which can easily crack and split if holes are made. Therefore, placing things in (and on) walls requires thoughtful strategy and specific supplies. That said, the pegboard pieces sat there for months while I figured out what to do with them.
During that time, every time I opened the staircase door from the kitchen, I braced myself for chaos. Everything was in corners and landings, leaning against the walls, always on the verge of tipping over and falling into the cellar.
So when I found it, Essentials Anti-Slip Mop and Broom Holder When I bought it at Dollar Tree for $1.50, I knew this was the solution I needed. With a simple peel and stick method, the Leaning Tower of cleaning products lined up neatly and vertically on the wall.

Why I love Dollar Tree’s non-slip mop and broom holders
Installation is surprisingly easy, even if you have some resistance to drilling. Clean the wall with a little rubbing alcohol first, make sure the adhesive sticks, and press firmly for about 30 seconds to finish.
Once I got everything sorted out, my daily routine felt better. Instead of pulling a broom out of the pile every time you need to clean, you can now do it with one hand. Simply pull straight on whatever you’re holding and the handle will be released. When you’re done, just slide it back out. It may sound like a small detail, but when you do a quick cleanup before guests arrive or clean up after dinner, these little frictions add up.
Cleaning the landing is much easier because everything is off the floor. Previously, sweeping or mopping a space required moving an entire broom pile.
Non-slip grips are also effective. The inside of the clamp is made of rubber and can be adjusted to fit different handle widths, keeping everything securely in place. My broom handle is wood and thick, but my mop handle is thin plastic. Both remain the same. Although I’ve accidentally bumped into things while carrying groceries in tight spaces, I’ve never had anything slip and fall.
More ways to use Dollar Tree mop and broom holders
Besides the kitchen, I can see these holders coming in handy in other places around the house as well. For example, it’s perfect for storing gardening tools in the garage, or for a feather duster or extendable drying rack in the laundry room. Although unconventional, it’s also a good place to keep hot hair tools like straighteners and curling irons inside your bathroom cabinet.
If you have a similar cleaning supplies situation, like a leaning broom tower, a fallen mop, or a hopeless corner of your home, I can’t recommend these cleaning supplies enough. These are small, economical organizational solutions that bring instant order to a chaotic reality.
