Dr Pepper launches its first ever product

Coca-Cola is great and I’ll settle for Pepsi when things get really bad, but Dr. Pepper is definitely my favorite soda. The uniquely flavored soda is iconic in its own right, but Dr. Pepper has expanded its lineup in recent years to include many fan-favorite variations, including Creamy Coconut, Vanilla Float, and Blackberry. But beyond cans and bottles, Dr. Pepper is working with multiple brands to bring the soda’s signature 23 flavors to some unexpected products, from Whataburger milkshakes to Walmart cakes. Now, the chain is gearing up for a new, first-of-its-kind collaboration, and die-hard Dr. Pepper fans aren’t sure what to think.

Johnsonville launches Dr Pepper Sausage

Soda fans are divided over the concept, with some taking to social media to share their opinions. Some people commented, “Absolutely not” and “Really?”, while others responded to @snackolator’s announcement by writing, “Shut up and take the money” and “You need to try this!”

Dr. Pepper-flavored meat products may seem far-fetched, but they’re not entirely unheard of. When I was a kid, my mom would marinate her pulled pork with Dr. Pepper, and often used Coke to brine her skirt steak. If these fan-favorite recipes are any indication, soda fans may be in for a treat with Johnsonville sausage.

an instagram user He also said that beef jerky brand Jack Lynx “has a Dr. Pepper-inspired jerky,” adding, “This is my favorite! So (definitely) I’d like to try that.”

Regardless of where you stand on mixing soda with meat, as a Dr. Pepper lover who swears by canned Coke in the slow cooker, I’m definitely going to give it a try. In the meantime, I’ll continue to get my DP fix from my beloved Blackberry Dr Pepper.
