Taco Bell makes a big announcement and is making headlines

Taco Bell is no stranger to innovation and competitive competition. The Mexican-inspired fast-food chain rarely fails to impress fans with new releases, from Cantina Fajitas to the revived Flamin’ Hot Grilled Cheese Burrito, some of which are strikingly similar to other drive-thru favorites.
After McDonald’s relaunched its Snack Wrap this summer after a nearly 10-year hiatus from its menu, Taco Bell countered with its own spin on the fan favorite, the crispy chicken taco. When KFC collaborated with Mike’s Hot Honey to develop a spicy sauce for its fried chicken, Taco Bell responded with its own Hot Honey Diablo and tortilla chip-crusted nuggets.
Recently, TBell introduced one of its new concepts to Starbucks, but test runs seem to have just begun.
Taco Bell expands Live More Coffee concept
Taco Bell may make you think of Mountain Dew, but the fast food chain offers more than just Baja Blast. After expanding its signature drinks and testing coffee-forward beverages over the past two years, Taco Bell introduced its first-ever beverage-only concept in 2024 to positive reviews.
Instead of tacos, chalupas and crunchwraps, Live Más Café is offering new drinks like the agua refresca. cream soda freezeand specialty coffee for Taco Bell fans. While you can always grab a decadent latte at Starbucks or refresh yourself at Dunkin, Taco Bell leaves an indelible impression on fans with its popular caffeinated beverages like the Coffee Chiller. And of course, Live Más Café customers can also get their hands on the signature Dirty Baja Blast.
The first Live Más Café opened in Chula Vista, California, in late 2024, but this flagship store is just getting started. Taco Bell representatives said the Irvine, Calif.-based cafe has sold about 1,000 drinks per day since opening in September. And after launching five successful locations in the Golden State, Taco Bell is making its way to Texas with a beverage-focused show.
Next, announcement With an all-new beverage line and expansion this June, Taco Bell’s cafe-style experience is officially going nationwide. Live Más Café makes its Texas debut with two new locations opening. One will open in Dallas on November 6th, followed by one in Houston on November 20th.
If you’re not in the area but would like to drink Cinnabon coffee provided by ‘Berlistas’, you’re in luck. The summer announcement also shared that Taco Bell plans to expand its Live Mass Cafés to 30 new locations in Southern California and Texas by fall 2025.
Taco Bell’s Live Mass Café isn’t the first time the fast food favorite has launched a standalone drink-only location. McDonald’s led the industry with McCafé in the early 2000s before opening CosMc’s, and more recently Chick-fil-A announced its move into the industry with its latest beverage-only concept, Daybright.
I’m not anywhere near Texas, but I plan on finding a trip to Houston or Dallas to see if I can try Live Más Café for myself. But in the meantime, I’ll be drinking Mountain Dew Baja Midnight and looking forward to the New York location, or at least the national release of Gordita Crunch Sliders.
