Popular taco kit sold in 28 states recalled due to mix-up of seasoning packaging

This packaging mix-up is beyond bizarre. Teasdale Foods Co. Reminds me of a particular taco dinner kit The kit contained a packet of cocoa instead of taco seasoning. The company officially announced a recall because the cocoa mix cartons contained milk. Milk is an allergen that must be listed on the package. Unexpected milk can be dangerous for people with allergies or sensitivities to cow’s milk and can cause life-threatening allergic reactions.
The company initiated the recall after consumers reported taco dinner kits containing cocoa mix packets instead of taco seasoning packets. Understandably, people expecting chili powder and cumin didn’t want to eat taco meat flavored with hot cocoa.
Teasdale Foods says the issue is due to mislabeling of taco seasoning packages by a third-party seasoning provider. The taco dinner kits in question were sold at Aldi, Giant Food, and Martin’s supermarkets.
